About the project
A touching historical documentary recounting the true story of Pierce O'Mahony, an Irish aristocrat and former British MP. Deeply moved by the aftermath of the 1903 Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising, O'Mahony moved to Sofia and established the "St. Patrick" orphanage. He adopted 30 orphaned Bulgarian children from Macedonia and Adrianople Thrace, gave them his last name, and financed their upbringing and education. The film tracks down their modern descendants to showcase his incredible humanitarian legacy.
